What Went Right Today?

Ok, so I haven't posted ANYTHING in like forever!!!  Ever since school has started, things have just been "K"RAZY (I always say "Crazy with a capital K!", meaning that it's just way too crazy!)  So, to get things started again, I found an old linky party at Dana Richliew's blog 3rd Grad Gridiron, and decided to post it too!  She actually posted this today on her blog as well!  So, here is what went right for me today!! (I'm having technical difficulties trying to get her cute little link thing to post on here, so I will do it manually.)

Here it is:

1.  My students learned how to do 2 digit addition with regrouping!! :)

2.  My 3 year old daughter FINALLY danced and followed directions at dance class!

3.  Loving Mommy and Daughter time tonight!

Well, that's all for now!  Time to give Baby Girl a bath and call it a night!

Talk to y'all later! :)

My First Linky Party

I am so excited to be participating in a linky party hosted by Amy Lemons!

Here are some things that make me...ME!!

1.  I am the only child of my parents!  I have to say that being an only child growing up was one of the best things of my life.  It was lonely at times, but it also helped me to have a great relationship with both my mother and father!
my dad and mom

2.  I met my wonderful husband, Marc, in September 2003, and we were married on April 10, 2004!  Talk about a whirlwind relationship!!  But I wouldn't have traded it for the world!

This is us in 2008 (couldn't find a wedding pic on our computer!)

3.  On April 28, 2009, I had the most precious gift ever...our beautiful daughter Marciana Grace!

4.  Marc and I are HUGE LSU Tiger and New Orleans SAINTS fans!  We absolutely LOVE football!!

5.  I'm also an Army Wife!  Marc is a Sergeant First Class in the Louisiana Army National Guard.  In our 8 years of marriage, he has been on two one-year deployments to Iraq.

6.  My all-time favorite drink is Diet Coke!  I have to have at least one a day!  I know it's bad for you, but I do not drink coffee.  My morning drink preference is green tea!

7.  I'm a Real Housewives junkie!  My favorite is Real Houswives of New Jersey!  I'm also addicted to Army Wives on Lifetime!

8.  I was born in Charleston, South Carolina, but was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Marc and I moved to Baton Rouge, where we currently reside, in August 2005 right after Hurricane Katrina hit.

9.  I LOVE teaching and creating new things for my classroom!

Summertime!

HI Bloggy Friends!
I hope all of my teaching buddies are enjoying their summer off!  I know I sure am!!! So, I have been very busy this summer.  Besides taking care and spending some quality time with my 3 yr old daughter, I am also trying to organize my classroom for next year and finish some projects that I have started, but never got around to finishing!  I'm finding ALOT of fabulous classroom organizing tips on Pinterest.  So, my goal is this summer to implement these organizing tips and prepare my classroom for next year (it will be here before we know it!).  I'm also going to try creating some of my own teaching materials.  This is something that I haven't tried before, but wanted to.  I'm just not sure what I want to create.  If you want, leave me some ideas on what I can try.  I would greatly appreciate it!  Enjoy your time off! :)

Teacher Appreciation!

I just want to shout out a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who participated in the TpT blogging freebies last night!  I found so many cute and resourceful activities!  I can't wait to use them next year!
I am so thankful to those teachers who give up their time to produce such amazing and useable resources for the classroom.  I am hoping that within the next year or so I will be able to do something like that!  Of course, I have to blog more often. {smile} One of my goals for next year is to be more productive on blogging and posting materials to my blog.  So, hopefully, with some good training this summer, I will be able to accomplish that!

Happy New Year!

Well, I guess I haven't lived up to my goal of trying to post something every week!  Maybe as a new year resolution, I can do that!  We'll see!! Ha!
My Winter Break is officially over on Monday, January 9th.  I can honestly say that I have truly enjoyed my three weeks off spending quality time with my hubby and little girl!  However, I am ready to get back to my students.  I  miss them!  :)
I will be beginning our week with a unit on Snow/Winter/Polar Bears.  It's my beginning of the new year unit to get the students back into their routines after being off for three weeks!  I have come across several winter ideas and activities that I can't wait to do with my kiddos!
Here are some pics of what we have been doing so far.  Hope you enjoy! :)

Back To School

I'm so sorry that I have been away for awhile.  My summer vacation officially ended last Wednesday.  Our first day of school was last Friday!  I had to move classrooms, so I have been working hard to get my new room ready for my students.  Now, I am back in "school mode"!! One of my goals this year is to try to post something on this blog weekly.  Hopefully, I can keep that goal!  I'm still in the process of figuring everything out for this blog.  I'm going to try to post some pictures soon!  I hope everyone is enjoying the rest of their summer break!  Happy New School Year!! :)
